  7.     In the midst of Soviet disunion, what's going to happen
  8. to the nukes? Money-hungry military officers in some hot spots
  9. are already renting armored personnel carriers and other
  10. weaponry to local militias with turf to protect. But they could
  11. probably get much steeper prices from more ambitious
  12. troublemakers abroad, especially those looking for really
  13. hard-to-find goods. "In this country at this time," says a
  14. Soviet historian, "anything can happen. If you can come up with
  15. a guarantee of $2 million, hard currency, I wager that I can put
  16. you in touch with somebody who would sell you a nuclear
  17. missile." But how would the buyer get it out of the country?
  18. "Easy," he says. "Launch it."
